Tyler Bey keeps faith in embattled Hotshots
Tyler Bey remains undaunted by Magnolia’s current 2-3 predicament against powerhouse San Miguel in the PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
Initially trailing 0-2 in the championship series, Chito Victolero’s squad now faces an even greater challenge as they stand on the brink of elimination with the Beermen needing just one more win to snatch their title aspirations.
Nevertheless, Bey exudes confidence ahead of Game 6 tonight, emphasizing the Hotshots’ imperative to tighten their defensive play after allowing San Miguel to shoot a collective 37% from beyond the arc.
“No pressure. We just have to come out, do what we did the last two games before this game,” said Bey shortly after the Hotshots absorbed their 3rd defeat in the best-of-seven series. “We’re a great team. I don’t really feel like our backs are against the wall.”
“We can’t just let guys go off for 30. We gotta respect everybody on their team. I feel like we didn’t adjust. I just feel like we didn’t respect them today, and that’s our problem,” he added.
Moreover, Bey draws strength from their conference-long dominance and believes in their collective experience to once again unravel the San Miguel puzzle.
“I feel good. I feel good about this conference. I mean we came back from 0-2, we can do it again, we can win two more games. Why not?” said Bey.
“Obviously we’re down, and they got one more to go, but I believe in this team.”
